Ieri am adaugat pe site povestea lui 2021, astazi postam “2022 in review”. Si totusi, intre cele doua postari au trecut 365 zile de munca intensa, bucurie inaltatoare, relatii frumoase, dragoste dar si temeri cauzate de razboi, toate asezate piesa cu piesa, intr-un mozaic multicolor numit “viata”.

Fascinati de timpul care trece usor dar ne zambeste perfid din fruntile incretite ale parintilor si bunicilor nostri, am visat mereu sa-l oprim si sa ne plimbam liberi pe axa lui. Nici cunostintele economice, nici cele juridice nu au fost suficiente pentru a ne permite sa inventam masina timpului, dar intotdeauna am tanjit dupa ea. Asa se explica retroactiv imbratisarea fotografiei ca substitut multumitor pentru masina timpului. Inca nu putem zburda in voie la dreapta lui “acum” pe axa timpului, dar in partea stanga putem calatori ori de cate ori simtim apasarea unui nou rid sau fir de par alb. E ceva!

Yesterday we uploaded the story of 2021 on the website, today we post “2022 in review”. And yet, between the two posts, 365 days of intense work, uplifting joy, beautiful relationships, love but also fears caused by war have passed, all placed piece by piece, in a multicolored mosaic called “life”.

Fascinated by the time that passes easily but perfidiously smiles at us from the wrinkled foreheads of our parents and grandparents, we have always dreamed of stopping it and walking freely on its axis. Neither economic nor legal knowledge was enough to allow us to invent the time machine, but we always yearned for it. This is how the embrace of photography as a satisfactory substitute for the time machine is retroactively explained. We still can’t wander freely to the right of “now” on the time axis, but we can travel to the left whenever we feel the pressure of a new wrinkle or white hair. That’s something!
